Overtime and minimum wage has been a hot topic for the last several years, legislation almost went into in effect in 2017 but was stopped by several states coming forward with legal action.
But new legislation was released on April 23, 2024, that have updates beginning as soon as July 1, 2024 to the salary thresholds along with additional updates required by 1/1/2025. However, with all this said on Nov 15th a federal judge in Texas to strike down the overtime rules. Including the July 1, 2024, changes. This has put employers into the situation to ask some key questions on how to handle their exempt workforce.
