Overview:

Employees today are looking for something different in their leader. Actually, it takes a "new" style of leadership, a different way of relating with employees that acknowledges and capitalizes on their talents and abilities. Leaders today are expected to be benevolent coaches, developing their people, while getting the job done. Combining the jobs of counselor, role model, and administrator, leaders at all levels need to understand what’s really important to their people.

Why Should You Attend: There is a lack of effective leadership in many companies today-mostly due to the fact that for two long, recent periods, after 9/11 and during the Great Recession, companies stopped training their leaders. Another reason, equally important, is that young people do not have the will to lead that the previous generations did. They value "having a life" over climbing the corporate ladder. They do not realize that their goal to become rich is probably dependent upon their taking on more responsibility. This situation represents a clear and present danger to many corporations, only they have no clue that it is happening.

Companies are still not training their people before moving them into positions of greater responsibility-a mistake on the part of the company because unnecessary employee turnover is expensive and sometimes devastating to the career of the supervisor or manager "anointed" into the higher position.
"The Peter Principle" is also alive and well in Corporate America and elsewhere, because people are being promoted to the level of their incompetence.
Without good leaders, companies will be stuck in what we call "The Unstoppable Downward Spiral", progressively losing people and customers, until the company is out of business.
