Overview:

If you've ever had to work with a difficult person--bulldozer, time bomb, clam or whiner--and couldn't figure out how to help facilitate a change in their behavior, then this session is for you.

It's important to recognize that behaviors are driven by intentions, and everyone thinks that their intentions are positive. If you understand intentions and if you listen closely to people, they will tell you by their very speech what their intention is at any given time. And, as long at their intentions are heard and valued, their behavior is more likely to be productive and less likely to escalate into something intolerable. But, when those positive intentions go unrecognized or unexpressed, you've got trouble. Knowing how to handle the person who's exercising bad behavior is a skill that will help alleviate stress and make you a more influential person.

If you struggle with certain troublesome behaviors in others, and would like to know how to best facilitate change, you will enjoy and learn from this webinar.

Why should you attend: If you've ever had to work with people who:
  • Have a hard time differentiating between a fly swatter and a sledgehammer?
  • Verbally erupt for no apparent reason?
  • Don't or won't talk when you need them to converse?
  • Show up to complain but bring no solutions?
If you said yes to any of the above questions, you will find this program both enlightening and practical. Best of all, you'll walk away with tools and strategies that can turn your miserable person into someone who is happier and much more manageable, able to provide more value to the organization.

Areas Covered in the Session:
  • Review the primary intents that drive behavior
  • Identify how language implies intent
  • Discover what creates a difficult person (the fear associated with the intent that drives the behavior)
  • Focus on four problem behaviors-bulldozer, time bomb, clam, and whiner
  • Provide specific strategies to turn your miserable person into someone who is not only manageable, but significantly meaningful to your organizatio
