Overview: Creativity is prominent in children. As we become adults we tend to be more restrained, more focused, hesitant and cautious, conservative, afraid to make mistakes and unwilling to make a fool of ourselves. This inhibits our creativity.
Creative people think "outside the box." They don't feel constrained by boundaries. When we learn to be creative, we do the following:
- Take an interest in a variety of areas - outside our own area of expertise
- Take multiple perspective on problems to be innovative in our solutions
- Use trial and error methods to experiment possible solutions to an issue
- Look to the future, not at the past
Being creative involves immersing ourselves in a problem and looking for connections through past experiences. Creative thinkers brainstorm ideas with others, let ideas "incubate" and revisit and expand on those ideas. They think about future possibilities.
This webinar will provide best practices for building your own creative thinking ideas.
Why should you attend: The ability to use creative thinking skills enables for more effective problem solving, better decision making and innovation in products and services. Creative thinkers are valued for their ability to look beyond the obvious - to look to the future rather than the past.
